Djembe and hand drumming classes with Tripp Bratton
In honor of Kentucky's social distancing policies, all of my classes are now being held online at Tripp's Drum Haven on Facebook. The classes are on Tuesday's at 7:30 pm and are free (though PayPal and Venmo donations are appreciated!)
...............................................................
Every Tuesday night at The Living Arts and Science Center, 362 Martin Luther King Blvd in Lexington KY
I usually organize the class into 4 or 5 week sessions that focus on a certain set of rhythms and techniques and have a discounted fee for those that register for the entire session - usually $50 for a 5 week session or for $12 for a single class. Anyone can join a class at any point in the session.
I cover West African, Caribbean, and Latin rhythms and techniques including tone production, rhythm theory, traditional arrangements of rhythms, breaks and lead phrases, improvisation, and more.
Beginners and Vets are all welcome
Extra drums are always on hand and available to play

In this time of no live shows or classes I've been creating livestreams, videos and recordings to share online on Facebook and other social media: Original Music Compositions and ProductionsHere's some original music from my Klang series - experimental electronic music based on modular synth sound design (Nord G2 mostly) patches and sequences along with samples and devices mixed in Ableton Live.
Are We There Yet is a demo recording of a song composed with my Brother Arte Bratton as arranged to be performed by the Berea College Fusion Ensemble.
Dance of emergence was created for the Mecca Studio dance production and CD for the concert One Veiling. I created most of the samples with my own instruments. This is a brief excerpt.
